Cynwyd 4th Grade Takes the Stage for one FINAL Performance in Bye Bye Owlbert

Wednesday, May 27th @ 7pm

Please mark your calendars for Wednesday, May 27th at 7pm when members of our amazing 4th grade class perform their original show, “Bye Bye Owlbert.”

This show is a true testament not only to their creativity but to their love of Cynwyd.

Admission is free of charge and this group deserves thunderous cheers from the audience.

The 2026-27 HSA Board has ONE MORE OPENING: Webmaster

Are you organized, a little tech-savvy, and a fan of "one-stop-shop" efficiency? If you love the idea of keeping our parents informed and our events running smoothly, we need you! You don't need to be a coder—just someone who is detail-oriented and enjoys making information easy to find.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Keep Us Current: Update the HSA homepage weekly so it aligns with the Whooo’s Talking newsletter.
  • Manage the "Shop": Set up and oversee online sign-ups and stores (like Pretzel Club and Raffles).
  • Track the Wins: Provide quick reports on store activity so we know how our fundraisers are doing.
  • Social Connection (Optional): Help moderate our Facebook group to keep the conversation helpful and friendly.

Skills That Help You Shine:

  • Tech-Comfortable: You’re happy clicking around new interfaces (we’ll train you on our specific platform!)
  • Sharp Eyes: You catch the broken links and typos that others might miss.
  • Clear Communicator: You know how to take a lot of info and summarize it into "just the basics" for busy parents.
  • Creative Spark (Bonus): If you like playing in Canva to make things look pretty, that’s a huge plus!

We host a wide variety of events throughout the school-year designed to build community and create fun opportunities for students and their families to strengthen their relationships outside the classroom. The best way to stay informed about upcoming events is to Subscribe to our HSA Calendar.

✋Volunteer Your Time | Can you give us 30-minutes?!

Every event we sponsor requires varying amounts of planning and coordination. It's because of the generosity of our volunteer community who give their time and energy that these events are not only possible, but hugely successful.

🍏 Daily Lunch Helpers [2025-26]
Come spend lunch with your child and their grade-mates by volunteering to serve as a lunchroom helper! RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the children in opening containers, answering questions, and being another adult presence in the room. The role is not designed for discipline but rather to help the students. Please do your best to circulate around all tables to make sure that any student requiring help is better able to access it.
🥨Pretzel Club / October - June (1st Friday of the Month)
The Cynwyd Pretzel Club is looking for volunteers to help us sort and distribute pretzels on the first Friday of each month (Second Friday in January and April). It should only take 30-45 minutes of your time. Any help is greatly appreciated! You are welcome to sign-up for one....a few....or ALL Fridays!
🎪Cynwyd Carnival
It's our final community event of 2026 and we need your help to make it a success! You will find volunteer windows to sign-up for - we only ask 30-minutes, but certainly won't turn down any offers of more. Task will include Check-in, Raffle Ticket Sales, Crowd control at the carnival games, face-painting, dunk-tank, trackless train and petting zoo. If you are flexible, we would love to put you where we need you, however, if you have a strong preference, please note it in your sign-up.

🚨VOLUNTEER CLEARANCES
Lower Merion School District mandates ALL volunteers who enter the building and work directly with students are required to submit their clearances to the district prior to the event which you wish to volunteer for. Click Here for More Information on that Process. If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact the Office of School and Community Relations at 610-645-1977.
PLEASE NOTE: While this does take time, volunteer clearances are valid for 60 months (5 years) from the date of issue and must be renewed every five years.
