🫱🏼‍🫲🏾Cynwyd MLK Day of Service (during school hours)

Dear Cynwyd Families, We're looking forward to Cynwyd's Day of Service in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., taking place during the school day on Friday, January 16. It's important that our students recognize Dr. King's leadership and lasting impact through meaningful service--ideally as something we carry forward beyond one day each year. Here's what each grade will be doing: Grades K-2: Winter Care Bags for Individuals Experiencing Homelessness Students will assemble winter care bags with hats, gloves, socks, and hand warmers for individuals in North Philadelphia and the Kensington area, where these items are especially needed during the extreme cold. Grades 3-4: Care Packages for Our Military Students will put together care packages for partnered troops with essential toiletries and a few favorite snacks based on what they've requested. Contributions from the Cynwyd Community: If you would like to contribute, we will be gathering; Travel-size toiletries (toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, shampoo, mini tissue packs, and ChapStick) NEW unisex winter hats, gloves, and socks. You can also support the Day of Service by making a donation via Venmo: [@CynwydHSA]. Students may drop off donations in the collection box between Thursday, Jan 7th and Friday, Jan 16th. We ask that Venmo contributions be made by EOD Wednesday, Jan 14th so we might have a day to shop for additional donation materials.
