✏🍎 Teacher Appreciation Week is May 4th–8th! 📚💐
The Cynwyd HSA has planned a week-long celebration to honor our amazing teachers and staff, who do so much each day for our children and our community.
As part of the celebration, the HSA will be preparing individualized gifts for each teacher and staff member on behalf of the Cynwyd community.
 
📌Parents & Guardians: We’d love your help in making this extra special—please have your child write a thank-you note! Simply fill out this form and have your child bring it to school on Wednesday, May 6, to recognize a special teacher and/or staff member.

🎪Cynwyd Carnival is back for 2026
Join Us! Friday, May 29th from 5:30PM - 7:30PM
 
WHAT TO EXPECT

There will be no shortage of Food Trucks, Concessions, Music, Games, Entertainment and FUN!  

Carnival is, without a doubt, our BIGGEST Cynwyd Community event that we host.  With that being said, none of this is possible without our Volunteers! We want our Parents & Guardians to enjoy the event which is why we are only asking for 30-minutes of your time!

🪴Plant Sale 2026
The annual plant sale is back!
Choose from a selection of bedding plants, hanging baskets, potted annuals and perennials, veggies, and herbs.

  

🪴ORDER PICK-UP:

Orders can be picked up on Friday, May 8th on the Kindergarten playground between 11:00 am and 4:30 pm.

 

A limited number of plants may be available for purchase on the day of the sale on a first come basis.

✋Plant Sale- Help Needed!
We need help to make the plant sale run smoothly! 

Early morning we will need volunteers to assist with setup, meet the delivery truck, and sort our bulk order into individual orders. 

Throughout the day we will need someone on the kindergarten playground to assist folks who are picking up their orders and verify that orders are correct. 

After school we need continued oversight for pickup and help with cleaning up.

Please note that although the sign-up is divided into 2 hour blocks, any amount of time is appreciated.  Just note your time constraints in the sign-up.

🍪Bake Sale benefiting Cynwyd Takes the Stage🎭
A bake sale to benefit Cynwyd Takes the Stage is happening on Friday, 5/8, on the local kindergarten playground. 
 
All items are priced at $1.
  • DURING THE SCHOOL DAY: Adults ONLY can shop the sale when they visit the Plant Sale
  • AFTER DISMISSAL you can send your student with money so that they can shop after dismissal.

➡PLEASE NOTE: We cannot sell items from the bake sale to students before dismissal unless a parent or guardian is with them

 

The proceeds from this sale will be used to buy supplies for the 🎭Cynwyd Takes the Stage theater program, which is available for students to participate in free of charge.

We host a wide variety of events throughout the school-year designed to build community and create fun opportunities for students and their families to strengthen their relationships outside the classroom. The best way to stay informed about upcoming events is to Subscribe to our HSA Calendar.

✋Volunteer Your Time | Can you give us 30-minutes?!

Every event we sponsor requires varying amounts of planning and coordination. It's because of the generosity of our volunteer community who give their time and energy that these events are not only possible, but hugely successful.

🍏 Daily Lunch Helpers [2025-26]
Come spend lunch with your child and their grade-mates by volunteering to serve as a lunchroom helper! RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the children in opening containers, answering questions, and being another adult presence in the room. The role is not designed for discipline but rather to help the students. Please do your best to circulate around all tables to make sure that any student requiring help is better able to access it.
🥨Pretzel Club / October - June (1st Friday of the Month)
The Cynwyd Pretzel Club is looking for volunteers to help us sort and distribute pretzels on the first Friday of each month (Second Friday in January and April). It should only take 30-45 minutes of your time. Any help is greatly appreciated! You are welcome to sign-up for one....a few....or ALL Fridays!

🎪Cynwyd Carnival
It's our final community event of 2026 and we need your help to make it a success! You will find volunteer windows to sign-up for - we only ask 30-minutes, but certainly won't turn down any offers of more. Task will include Check-in, Raffle Ticket Sales, Crowd control at the carnival games, face-painting, dunk-tank, trackless train and petting zoo. If you are flexible, we would love to put you where we need you, however, if you have a strong preference, please note it in your sign-up.

🚨VOLUNTEER CLEARANCES
Lower Merion School District mandates ALL volunteers who enter the building and work directly with students are required to submit their clearances to the district prior to the event which you wish to volunteer for. Click Here for More Information on that Process. If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact the Office of School and Community Relations at 610-645-1977.
PLEASE NOTE: While this does take time, volunteer clearances are valid for 60 months (5 years) from the date of issue and must be renewed every five years.
